Recognised. Not Defined By It.

Awards are a record of what has been done well. They matter because they represent real judgments by people who know their field, and because they tell you (before you've visited) that a standard is being kept.

The Duke of Wellington Inn holds a five-star gold rating from Visit England (their highest classification) and AA recognition for both accommodation and food, including an AA Rosette for culinary excellence. The breakfast here has earned its own commendation. These are not decorative; they are the result of consistent work over many years.

Rated five-star gold by Visit England and the AA, not once, but year after year. The standard is not an achievement. It is a habit.
