Hadrian’s Wall Path
The Hadrian’s Wall Path is an 84 mile (135 Km) long National Trail that follows the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall. The coast to coast route is unique in providing public access to an extensive collection of historical and archaeological sites and artefacts.
If you are walking the trail you may expect to take between 6 and 8 days for the journey. Maybe a little more or a little less depending on experience or on how many sites you want to visit on the way.
We are situated at the eastern part of the walk so for maybe your first 3 to 4 days (if you start at Wallsend) or your last 3 to 4 days (if you start at Bowness-on-Solway) you are in our ‘catchment area’. We will pick you up from the Path at the end of your day and transport you to the inn. You can shower (or soak in a deep, hot bath), change for dinner and enjoy a wonderful meal with excellent refreshments. Have a good night’s sleep, a hearty breakfast and we will get you back to the Path in the morning. You can continue this pampering for your duration of the walk in our area. Please give us at least 2 days notice of your trip so we can make the necessary arrangements for transport.
We will look after you on the eastern portion of the walk east of Once Brewed.
If your looking for a Hadrian’s Wall experience that doesn’t last a week then you can try our recommended days out. If you have your own transport we will provide you with all the maps and guide documentation you may need. If you don’t have transport then we will get you to the start point for the days exploring and provide you with public transport timetables as well as maps and guide documentation. We can also supply packed lunches too.

The AD122 bus service provides a regular service between the major sites on Hadrian’s Wall and can be used for return journeys on the non circular trail walks.
